FS1’s Cris Carter to Seattle’s Quinton Jefferson: ‘Run Off the Field and Do Your Job’

Fox Sports 1 “First Things First” co-host Cris Carter weighed in Monday on Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson almost climbing into the stands Sunday to fight with Jacksonville Jaguars fans throwing beverages at him following his ejection for unnecessary roughness.

After the game, Jefferson explained his actions, saying, “Folks in the stands was throwing beer and throwing soda, whatever. I mean, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I’m a human just like anybody else. I’m a man just like the other man in the stands. I’m not going to let somebody disrespect me, throw a beer on me.”

The NFL Hall of Famer Carter sided with the fans, saying players should keep their helmets on and “run off the field” rather than confronting fans.

“[The fan] didn’t disrespect you, he acted like a fan,” Carter argued. “Fans throw stuff. Run off the field and do your job.”
