FS1’s Sharpe: Owners Judging Kaepernick Worse for Protest than If He Abused a Woman, Had a DUI and Killed Someone or Abused Animals

Monday, Fox Sports 1 “Undisputed” co-host and Colin Kaepernick cheerleader Shannon Sharpe responded to free agent quarterback Johnny Manziel’s tweets from the weekend about being tired of the comparisons between himself and Colin Kaepernick.

Sharpe said the comparison is “not even close” because NFL owners are judging Kaepernick worse for protesting the National Anthem than had he abused a woman, killed someone driving drunk or abused animals.

“They’re judging Colin Kaepernick worse than if he abused a woman, worse than if he got a DUI and killed someone, worse than if he had abused animals,” Sharpe stated. “That’s how they’re treating Colin Kaepernick because we’ve seen guys with those kinds of history be given an opportunity.”

He added, “[T]o sit here and say Colin Kaepernick did something so egregious that no team should give him an opportunity — that’s what they’re saying.”
