On Friday’s “MSNBC Live,” 2020 presidential candidate Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) said that she would “seriously consider” impeaching President Trump if he takes military action without authorization from Congress.
Host Hallie Jackson asked, “Some of your 2020 Democratic presidential candidate rivals have said that if President Trump takes military action with no congressional authorization, it would be, in their view, an impeachable offense. Do you agree?”
Gillibrand responded, “I would seriously consider that. Because the truth is, what he was contemplating is deeply disproportionate. I don’t think that this president understands what it means to attack another country, and what the consequences could be.”
