Eastwood's RNC Speech Likely to Give 'Curve' Some Box Office Heat

Conventional wisdom is a funny thing. Especially when it’s based on a meme fashioned by the dishonest mainstream media.

Clint Eastwood’s “empty chair” speech at the Republican National Committee drew nearly universal pans from the press.

Now, with Eastwood’s latest movie, “Trouble with the Curve,” about to hit theaters, movie experts are saying the speech will likely help the movie’s commercial appeal.

…analysts see a debut in the $18 million range and believe it could take the top spot.”People who like Clint Eastwood movies, and there are still plenty of them, are going to go to the theaters,” Phil Contrino, editor-in-chief at Boxoffice.com told TheWrap. “But people who normally don’t care about Clint Eastwood movies, well, they know this one is out there now….”

In an online survey conducted by ticket broker Fandango earlier this month, 61 percent of respondents said that they would be more inclined to see the film in the wake of his appearance with “the invisible Obama.”
