Jimmy Fallon on ObamaCare Web Sites: They're Working Now

No one expected Jimmy Fallon to grill First Lady Michelle Obama about the rolling disaster known as ObamaCare Thursday night.

The First Lady rarely gets the kind of tough questions the president receives, and Fallon’s first week at the helm of The Tonight Show is all about audiences getting to know their new host.

Still, Fallon trotted out a clearly false line meant to appease the First Lady and dupe millions of Americans still struggling to work with HealthCare.gov and its various sister sites.

(The website is) working now. It’s so much better when it’s working,” Fallon said.

Working?

The main site was recently down from Feb. 15-18 for more repairs. The so-called best of said sister sites just crashed repeatedly. Roughly 18,000 West Virginians had to re-enroll thanks to more glitches. The site still lacks an appeals and error correction system to handle these issues and more.

That doesn’t even go into the much discussed security concerns plaguing the system.

As for Mrs. Obama, she managed to insult Fallon’s target audience–young people who may have felt departed hos Jay Leno didn’t understand their generation–in between doing another cute sketch for the show. Here’s Obama discussing why 20-somethings should be eager to sign up for ObamaCare.

A lot of young people think they’re invincible,” Obama. “But they truth is young people are knuckleheads. They’re the ones who are cooking for the first time and slice their finger open. They’re dancing on the bar stool.
