Jaden Smith Poses Wearing Skirt in Gender Fluid Vogue Shoot

Jaden Smith, the eccentric teen son of Oscars boycotters Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, appears in a new gender fluid ad for Vogue Korea.

The 17-year-old, who previously compared himself to Italian polymath Galileo and described his future plans to build an Egyptian pyramid, appears in the ad sporting a skirt, blue painted fingernails, and a red flower tucked behind one ear.

Smith shared a photo from the Vogue shoot taken by photographer Peter Ash Lee on his Instagram page.

“Just Come Here,” Smith captioned the photo.

Mainstream industry, news, and fashion outlets are praising the teen for behaving outside of “masculinity norms.”

Hollywood Life writes that the teen is simply “proving that a man wearing a little black skirt can still be the coolest look ever!”

Describing Smith as “fashion forward,” Hollywood Life adds Jaden is “continuing on his quest to make fashion gender neutral.”

Meanwhile, the Huffington Post declares that he “has basically been giving the middle finger to gender norms since he started wearing dresses back in 2015.”

On Thursday, Smith shared another snap of himself wearing a different dress; however, Instagram users were not as receptive of the fashion choice as those in the industry.

“Fruit cake and your momma worried about the oscars,” wrote one commenter.

Earlier this month, Jaden was announced as the new face of fashion house Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2016 women’s collection.

Louis Vuitton Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquiere posted several photos to his Instagram account of Smith wearing a skirt from the new collection.

Smith also wore a dress to a high school prom last spring, which he attended with bisexual Hunger Games teen star Amandla Stenberg.
