Rising Hollywood actor Michael B. Jordan says he’s “consistently repulsed” by presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The Creed star was answering questions posed by the Hollywood Reporter in rapid-fire format. When Jordan was asked what he is “consistently repulsed by,” he answered: “Donald Trump.”
After playing in a few minor roles on acclaimed TV shows, including The Wire, The Sopranos, and Friday Night Lights, Jordan’s star power soared after he turned in an award-winning performance for his portrayal of Oscar Grant in 2013’s politically-charged Fruitvale Station. Grant was fatally shot by a BART police officer at an Oakland train station in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day in 2009.
Aside from drawing criticism for saying that he only wants movie “roles that were written for white characters,” Jordan rarely makes the headlines for his politics.
During the #OscarsSoWhite controversy earlier this year, Jordan reportedly played a role in encouraging his Creed co-star Sylvester Stallone to attend the awards show.
To that end, the Hollywood Reporter did ask the 29-year-old actor the one thing he “loathe[s] about Hollywood.”
“Old ways of thinking,” he said in response.
Jordan confirmed Wednesday that he will co-star alongside Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther, Marvel’s first black superhero-centered movie.
“I’m super excited, especially to put a different spin on it,” the actor told THR when asked about his involvement in Black Panther, currently slated for release in 2018. “I’m looking forward to working with Ryan [Coogler] once again. It’s gonna be a good time.”
