Greenpeace activists took to Westminster’s Parliament Square in the heart of London this morning to protest against hydraulic fracturing – a relatively new method of extracting gas from the Earth which has gone a long way to lowering energy prices in the United States.
But Greenpeace would, apparently, prefer that UK energy bills stay high. They claimed: “Today we are fracking Parliament Square. The government probably doesn’t want fracking on its doorstep… well neither do we”.
But no one in “the government” seemed remotely bothered about Greenpeace’s theatrics today. In fact, protests on Parliament Square require government approval – and Greenpeace got it for theirs.
“In June last year, Lancashire council rejected a fracking application,” says Greenpeace, neglecting to mention how the council was pressured by hard-left wing lawmakers from New York, USA – as exclusively revealed by Breitbart London – with the full throated assistance of the BBC.
The protest, exclusive pictures of which are below, was titled “#frackminster”.
