Hero Cat That Saved Boy From Dog Will Throw First Pitch at Baseball Game

Tara the world-famous hero cat from Bakersfield, California, who saved her 4-year-old owner from a dog attack, has booked her first gig.

She will be throwing out the first pitch at a May 20 minor-league game between the Bakersfield Blaze and the Lancaster Jet Hawks, according to local ABC affiliate KERO.

Her young companion Jeremy was riding a bike in his family’s driveway when a neighbor’s dog lunged at him, biting and dragging him off of the bike, which prompted Tara to lunge at the dog and ram into it before chasing it away.

The entire family will reportedly be present on the mound at the game and will assist Tara in throwing out the pitch.

Guests who bring unopened cans of food or animal toys to the game for donations to a local animal shelters or charity will be given 50% off of their tickets according to the Blaze’s website.
