Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies held a Metrolink bus passenger at gunpoint on Monday and ordered him to strip off his clothes after he claimed to be carrying a grenade.

According to ABC7, a bus driver called 911 and “said one of his passengers was armed with a grenade” in Norwalk around 8:00 p.m. The driver and other passengers then vacated the bus and the immediate area.

LA County Sheriff’s deputies responded and found the man lying next to the bus, face down. As they approached, “the suspect stood up and waved his arms.” The deputies retreated and regrouped. They then surrounded the man from a distance, held him at gunpoint, and ordered him to strip.

The man stripped naked, then lay down on the sidewalk, where he was detained “without incident.” He was wrapped in a blanket and placed in a police cruiser.
