This Washington Times editorial highlights some tough words from new defense chief Leon Paneta regarding Iran’s material support for terrorists in Iraq.
“We are very concerned about Iran and the weapons they are providing to extremists here in Iraq… We’re seeing more of those weapons going in from Iran, and they’ve really hurt us…This is not something we’re going to walk away from. It’s something we’re going to take on head-on,” Paneta is quoted as saying.
Sounds good, especially if you’re a US soldier stationed in Iraq. But I don’t expect we’ll see anything come of Paneta’s words anytime soon. Paneta works for Obama.
