Oct. 7 (UPI) — A pair of Maryland in-laws to play the lottery together collected their second $50,000 prize together from a Mega Millions drawing.

The Silver Spring woman and her daughter-in-law matched four of the five balls in the Sept. 18 drawing plus the Mega Ball to earn a $50,000 prize, the Maryland Lottery said.

The daughter-in-law took the ticket to the Exxon gas station on Colesville Road in Silver Spring where it was purchased to confirm the win.

The duo previously scored a $50,000 third-tier prize on Powerball in December of 2024.

“We win because we play the same numbers,” the daughter-in-law said.

The duo’s previous prize went toward helping family members pay off debt. They said their latest winnings will go toward a similar goal.
