Sept. 8 (UPI) — Comedy Central announced the return of Drunk History on Tuesday. New episodes will stream on Comedy Central’s YouTube channel beginning Sept. 15.
Meghan Trainor, husband Daryl Sabara, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Patton Oswalt, Colin Hanks, Mae Whitman and more celebrities were announced for the new season. Trainor will play Madonna in a segment about the first MTV Video Music Awards.
Other subjects include FDR Labor Secretary Frances Perkins and the world’s largest ball of twine.
In Drunk History, comedians describe historical events after several drinks. Celebrities re-enact their descriptions and lip-sync to their audio tracks. The show won an Emmy for its costumes.
Created by Derek Waters and Jeremy Konner, Drunk History premiered in 2013 as a half-hour series with several re-enactments per episode. It ran for six seasons.
“We have a lot of catching up to do,” Waters said in a statement regarding the series’ return.
