The leader of a new campaign to expose the late-term abortion industry in the United States spoke with Breitbart News about her organization’s undercover investigations and how they are helping Americans to see the realities of abortion.
Lila Rose is the president of Live Action, a pro-life advocacy organization that is in the midst of a new campaign called, “Inhuman: Undercover in America’s Late-Term Abortion Industry.”
Thus far, Live Action has released four videos featuring pregnant undercover investigators who have entered late-term abortion clinics in the Bronx, N.Y., Washington DC, Arizona, and Nebraska, to inquire about late-term abortion procedures. The outcome of the investigations has been gut-wrenching descriptions of how babies are killed inside the womb, or left to die if born alive, and misleading statements–even lies–told to a prospective client about what to expect from the late-term abortion procedure.
Live Action’s undercover campaign has been revealed as the murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell continues in Philadelphia.
Asked if, as a result of her newest campaign and the Gosnell trial, pro-life advocates are getting the attention of the nation, Rose states, “It’s actually abortion and abortionists who are getting the attention, not pro-life advocates. We see emerging the powerlessness, as well as the suffering, associated with abortion. The nation is seeing the true victims of abortion, babies inside and outside the womb.”
Clear about the effects of educating Americans about the brutality of abortion, Rose asserts, “When abortion is revealed, the abortion lobby loses every time.”
The intersection of the latest Live Action campaign and the Gosnell murder trial is an important factor.
“This entire campaign shows that Gosnell is not alone,” Rose says. “He is just the tip of an iceberg.”
Rose challenges abortion industry supporters who say that Kermit Gosnell is an outlier.
“Our campaign takes you from New York City to Washington to Arizona to Nebraska. In all these cases, the same kind of brutality has been inflicted on babies in the womb,” Rose states. “In these investigations, we see how candidly the abortionists and counselors speak about how babies are destroyed in the womb.”
In addition to the brutality shown toward babies, Rose emphasizes that the suffering of women seeking abortion is often dismissed by the abortion industry. She pointedly observes how abortionist LeRoy Carhart, in the latest Live Action video, lies to the undercover investigator, telling her that she will not experience any post-partum depression following the abortion, even after he has likened her baby dying inside her womb as “meat in a Crock-Pot.”
Rose underscores that Carhart also lied that his patient, Jennifer Morbelli, died of complications in her pregnancy, rather than from the abortion he performed on her.
Beyond the undercover investigations, Rose states that she is calling upon Attorney General Eric Holder and the U.S. Attorney’s office to investigate and prosecute those in the abortion industry who admit they violate federal law. She is also calling upon state and local health and law enforcement officials to investigate and put an end to the gruesome practices that endanger women and children.
Asked by Breitbart News her reaction to Sen. Mike Lee’s announcement of a resolution to address the types of abortion crime found in Kermit Gosnell’s clinic, Rose says that this is “a step in the right direction. We need to see more involvement by legislators to insure that this brutality ends. We need more common sense public policy.”
In a recent LifeSiteNews article entitled, “Eight People Planned Parenthood Hates The Most,” Rose topped the list. She responds, “There are different ways to view the struggle. If Live Action is leading the charge, that’s good. My hope is to educate more people and inspire more people to get involved in what is happening to these innocent babies and their mothers.”
