Lindsey Graham To Run for President Because ‘The World Is Falling Apart’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) says he is running for president because “the world is falling apart.”

“I’ve been more right than wrong on foreign policy,” Graham said in a Monday interview with “CBS This Morning.”

He added that his top priorities if elected would be to make America safe again and to increase bipartisanship.

“It’s not the fault of others or their lack of this or that that makes me want to run. It’s my ability in my own mind to be a good commander in chief and to make Washington work,” Graham said.

However, Graham isn’t exactly at the top of the GOP polls, or even on them at this point. And he only has a 45.5 percent approval rating among South Carolina voters, according to new Winthrop University poll.

The poll also revealed that roughly 60 percent of respondents, who are all South Carolina voters, don’t want Graham to run for president.

Graham is expected to make his presidential run official June 1.

Also expected to announce this summer are former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
