In an exclusive preview of President Obama’s Alaska-themed episode of “Running Wild With Bear Grylls” it appears that the most dramatic thing he ate was a piece of salmon that had already been chewed on by a bear.

Pulling a moss wrapped salmon out of his backpack, Grylls showed Obama that it had already been half eaten by a bear.

“This is for real, I found this on a river bank,” Grylls assures the president.

“Interesting, so a bear has chewed on this sucker,” Obama says while staring at the torn up fish. “Now why wouldn’t the bear finish this sucker – this looks like a nice looking piece of fish?”

Grylls grilled the fish on a fire before handing it to the president to eat it.

“Oh I hear a little sizzle there,” Obama observes as he watched Grylls cook the fish. “Yeah.”

Obama blew on it before putting it in his mouth and chewing it.

“It would have been nice if we had a cracker to go with it,” Obama said afterwards, speaking to the camera.

“Bear’s a mediocre cook,” he continued. “But the fact that we ate something recognizable was encouraging, now, the fact that he told me this was a leftover fish from a bear, I don’t know if that was necessary. He could have just left that out.”

Obama should count himself fortunate that he feasted so well during the trip.

In the past, Grylls has earned fame by eating raw fish, snakes, maggots, and spiders while in the wild. Actress Michelle Rodriguez famously ate a mouse boiled in her own urine.
