Ben Carson Tells Media Kanye West Is ‘A Very Smart Businessman’

GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson told a group of reporters on Friday that they should interview Kanye Wes. because West is “a very smart businessman.”

Breitbart News asked Carson what he thought about his personal phone call from West, who spent time rapping to Carson during the 30-minute call.

“He’s a very smart businessman. You guys ought to interview him sometime about business principles, you’ll be shocked about how much he knows,” Carson said to a group of reporters at the Values Voter Summit over the weekend.

Kanye is a fan of Carson and previous told Vanity Fair, “As soon as I heard [Ben] Carson speak, I tried for three weeks to get on the phone with him. I was like this is the most brilliant guy.”

Another reporter asked Carson if West is supporting Carson’s presidential campaign.

“I don’t know. I basically am just going to continue doing what I’m doing and that’s going around and telling the truth and let the chips fall where they may,” Carson said to the reporters.

“I’m not a politician. I’m never going to be a politician,” Carson continued.

I’m never going to be sticking with my hand up in the air and seeing which way the wind is blowing and I’m not going to be asking, ‘What should I say?’ to keep the media off my back. But I’m hoping that at some point the media matures and recognizes they’re an important part of freedom in America.

Carson’s business manager, Armstrong Williams, previously told Breitbart News there weren’t any plans as of yet for West to join Carson on the campaign trail.
