De Blasio: Donald Trump ‘Has Now Become Dangerous’

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio went after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, calling him “dangerous.”

“[Trump] has now become dangerous,” de Blasio said Dec. 29 on “Len Berman and Todd Schnitt in the Morning,” a New York radio show, according to The Hill.

De Blasio, who endorsed Hillary Clinton for President in October, argued Tuesday that Trump’s rhetoric is “un-American.”

From The Hill:

“He has systematically affronted one group after another — women, Muslims, Mexican-Americans,” the mayor continued.

“Then he has started to say things that are positively un-American, like we are going to have Muslims on a list and not allowing people into the country based on a religious test. What has Trump done? Just look at the Constitution. This goes against all of our basic values.”

“It is the time of year when we think about our blessings and the blessing that is this country,” he said. “Every kind of people is welcome here. This is what has made us work and what has made us great. [We are] a great nation of immigrants, a beacon to the world.”

In November, De Blasio called Trump a “blowhard.” Trump responded on Twitter by calling him “the worst Mayor in the U.S.”
