WATCH: Alleged Looters in Wilmington Carry ‘Armloads of Goods’ out of Family Dollar Store

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Despite Wilmington getting pummeled by Hurricane Florence, lototers are cleaning out stores in the area. Channel 9 was at a Family Dollar on Greenfield Street in downtown Wilmington, where thieves nearly picked the store clean.

A video shows individuals enter a Wilmington, North Carolina, Family Dollar store on September 15 and carry out “armloads of goods.”

Fox News reported that police were contacted about the looting and responded by saying, “We are aware of the looting occurring at the Family Dollar Store at 13th & Greenfield Sts., unfortunately management has asked us not to intervene at this time.”

Two hours after tweeting that they had been asked not to intervene in the looting, Wilmington Police tweeted that they had arrested five individuals and were working to identify other looters for arrest as well.

On September 14, 2018, Breitbart News reported that businesses in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, were warning that looters would face harsh retaliation. Signs on Knucklehead’s Bar & Grill said, “Looters will be shot.”
