Dr. Kelli Ward, the candidate for U.S. Senate in Arizona running against Sen. John McCain, told Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon that McCain is not at the GOP Convention in Cleveland to hear many so called “little people” speak because he’s more interested in “maintaining his power, maintaining the status quo in Washington, D.C., and making sure that the establishment strongholds that are in our Beltway remain strong.”

Ward added, “There’s a new wave that has risen, and it is a wave that started from frustration and anger and disappointment and disgust with Washington, D.C., and the insiders. And that negativity has been harnessed for positivity so that we can change the country.”

Ward, who bills herself as a Constitution-loving conservative, added, “We all know we want to change Washington. But we can’t change Washington unless we change the people we send there. So people are looking for competent, qualified people, and here I am, Dr. Kelli Ward.”

Asked how she will beat McCain, Ward replied, “We are going to beat him with the grassroots. We are going to beat him with policy ideas. And we’re going to beat him with new blood going to Washington, D.C.”

Breitbart News Daily airs on SiriusXM Patriot 125 weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern.
