After a series of troubles with her one-time fiancee, WNBA player Glory Johnson has announced that she is pregnant with twins and on Monday posted a snapshot of her ultrasound on Instagram.
“As of today I’m 9 Weeks Pregnant with TWINS!,” Johnson posted on Instagram. “Its not a surprise for me because this is what we planned for with the IVF Cycle, though hearing their hearts beat for time was the most ASTONISHING thing I have ever heard in my ENTIRE LIFE.”
“For 15yrs Double-Doubles came with hardwork and dedication,” she wrote, “now I’ve been blessed by God to have “double doubles” for the rest of my life! Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalms 127:3.”
Johnson was excited in May to celebrate her marriage to fellow WNBA player Brittney Griner, but in short order Griner sought an annulment of their relationship. It was a move that Johnson said shocked her.
This came after the two were involved in a heated argument that ended in legal actions and arrests. The arrests resulted in the pair’s suspensions for seven games.
Still, even the happy announcement of the pending birth of twins brings controversy between Johnson and Griner.
Griner has hinted that she felt pressured to marry Johnson and to go along with her as she underwent the fertility process. Johnson, however, disputes that any pressure was exerted on Griner.
“At no stage was Brittney pressured to undertake the fertility process,” Johnson said. “In fact, throughout the entire process, Brittney was a willing participant, consenting and signing all the necessary documents that needed to be signed in order to move forward with the treatments.”
