Iran: Mysterious Fire at Nuclear Facility Was Not ‘Intentional Sabotage’

Iranian officials insisted on Thursday that a mysterious fire at the Natanz nuclear facility was not an act of “intentional sabotage,” although they also stated the “incident” was still under investigation, and felt it necessary to throw in a belligerent warning to “hostile countries” that Tehran will retaliate if anyone crosses its “red lines in any way.”

Speaking in the Iranian parliament on Tuesday, lawmaker Ahmad Hamzeh offered a $3 million cash reward “on behalf of the people of Kerman province” to anyone who kills U.S. President Donald Trump. Kerman, which Hamzeh represents, is the hometown of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Gen. Qasem Soleimani, the top Iranian terrorist mastermind who was eliminated by a U.S. airstrike in December.

Iran Flip-Flops on Nuclear Deal: ‘Tehran Still Remains in the Deal’

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Monday that claims of nuclear deal violations by European participants in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) are groundless and Tehran still respects the deal, despite having systematically abrogated most of its terms in an effort to squeeze more financial concessions out of the Europeans.

Iran Marks 40th Anniversary of Hostage Crisis with Fresh Nuclear Deal Violations

Iran on Monday held an event commemorating the 40th anniversary of the 1979 hostage crisis at the U.S. Embassy, and also announced fresh violations of the 2015 nuclear deal it arranged with former U.S. President Barack Obama, including plans to deploy a new uranium centrifuge that would work 50 times faster than the equipment it was permitted to use under the deal.
