‘Jumanji’ Ready to Battle Floundering ‘Star Wars’ Franchise at Box Office

The new Jumanji franchise, that unexpectedly flourished against box office under-performer Star Wars: The Last Jedi last year, just announced Jumanji 3 will open on December 13, 2019,  just one week prior to the opening of Star Wars: Episode IX. So much for Star Wars being the 900 pound gorilla.

Cheers, Gasps at World Premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’

There were cheers, gasps, droid photo opportunities, casino games and more than a few standing ovations at the jam-packed world premiere of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” Saturday night in Los Angeles, which many are already praising online.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams said this week he wants to see the Star Wars franchise more accurately reflect “the way the world looks,” especially in regards to being more inclusive of gay characters.

George Lucas Disses New ‘Star Wars,’ Calls Disney ‘White Slavers’

In an interview with Charlie Rose last weekend, George Lucas used the word “breakup” to describe how he felt about being left out of the process in creating the latest installment of the Star Wars franchise, “The Force Awakens,” and likened Disney’s acquisition of the brand to “white slavers” taking his children.
