Students at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, may be punished for putting up a bulletin board on campus, which displays quotes from popular conservative commentators and activists.

Students from the Hood College Republicans received permission to display a bulletin board on campus. Administrators approved the club’s request to place the bulletin board, which was plastered in the student center last week. The board displayed quotes from prominent conservative commentators and activists.

Students took issue with several portions of the board, specifically a quote from Ben Shapiro on transgenderism.

Transgender people are unfortunately suffering from a significant mental illness, and it is not a solution to pretend that transgender people are the sex that they think they are in their head. Biology is biology; men can’t magically become women and women can’t magically become men.

In response to the backlash from students, the administration pressured the club to take the bulletin board down and claimed that they may elect to file policy violations against the students if they refuse to cooperate.

In a meeting on the incident, several students expressed their concern over the bulletin board. One student allegedly remarked that the bulletin board “is an example of propaganda that correlates to genocide.” Another allegedly said, “I like our enclosed community. But to me, I feel it’s been infiltrated to the outside now. I don’t feel safe.”
