Obama Slams Senate 'Minority' for Blocking Gun Restrictions

President Barack Obama on Wednesday slammed what he called a “minority” in the US Senate for blocking legislation that would have expanded background checks on those seeking to buy guns.

Obama also accused the powerful gun lobby in the United States of “willfully” lying in order to doom the measure, which was defeated 54-46 in a Senate vote. It required 60 votes for approval.
