NY Governor Cuomo Likens Boston Bombing to Climate Change

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, likening the bombing of the Boston Marathon to global warming, said that the situation in Boston was the “new normal,” the same terminology he used to describe climate change in a November 2012 op-ed for the New York Daily News

Back in November of last year, Cuomo claimed, “Extreme weather is the new normal.”

Today, Cuomo appeared on The Capitol Pressroom radio show and offered his perspective on the Boston Marathon terrorist attack:

It’s a terrible situation in Boston. And, unfortunately… one gets the sense that this is more reflective of the “new normal,” if you will. So much of society is changing so rapidly. We talk about a “new normal” when it comes to climate change and adjusting to a change in the weather patterns. “New normal” when it comes to public security in a post-9/11 world. Where these random acts of violence, which at one time were implausible, now seem all-too-frequent.

If Cuomo thinks that Americans will settle for accepting cowardly acts of violence like Boston suffered this week as “normal,” he does not understand the American will to fight and defeat evil.
