Los Angeles Leads the Nation in Traffic
According to a new study from the traffic firm INRIX, drivers in Los Angeles face more traffic than drivers anywhere else. Thanks to horrible road conditions and massive congestion, drivers spend approximately 59 hours a year extra in their cars.
That narrowly edges out drivers in Hawaii, where drivers spend 50 hours per year extra in their vehicles. San Francisco clocked in at number three. Rounding out the top five were Austin, Texas, New York City, and Bridgeport, Connecticut. Los Angeles traffic has jumped 6 percent this year, thanks in large part to construction efforts on major freeways including the infamous 405.
