Giant Pink Pooch Stolen After LA Gay Parade

The three-day LA Pride parade that ended Sunday in West Hollywood had an unfortunate ending for a resident of the city- a giant mastiff.  The huge sculpture of a hot pink dog was stolen from its 5 compatriots. The mastiff, situated on La Cienega Boulevard, a major thoroughfare, was part of a group of 6 dogs, three of which were pink and three red, that were sculpted by an artist named William Sweetlove as a part of his exhibit titled “Cloned Bulldogs With Water Bottle.”

The thieves managed to cart away the sculpture of the mastiff despite the fact that it weighs between 120-200 pounds. West Hollywood Cultural Affairs Administrator Andrew Campbell said, “We’ve been treating this with the assumption or hope that it’s prank that happened on the spur of the moment when people were partying a little too hard. We just want it back. We’re all a little surprised. There’s a 24-hour IHOP right across the street.”

Sweetlove, from Belgium, is offering a reward for the sculpture, which took 4 people to install. He has offered to make a $1.600 aluminum sculpture of a frog for the person who helps him find the pink pooch.
