NSA Leaker: I Am Not a Chinese Spy

On Monday, NSA leaker Edward Snowden told The Guardian (UK) that he was not a spy for the Chinese government. “Ask yourself: if I were a Chinese spy, why wouldn’t I have flown directly into Beijing?” Snowden wrote on The Guardian‘s website. “I could now be living in a palace petting a phoenix by now.” The Chinese government has also denied that Snowden works for them, saying that such speculation is “completely groundless.”

Snowden added that the implication he was a spy was a “knee-jerk ‘Red China'” reaction.
