The Hillary Clinton campaign is holding a fundraiser co-hosted by a lobbyist for the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Some elements of the American Left are very concerned that the Clinton campaign, which is running on a strict gun control platform, is selling out its stated principles in order to take cash from an NRA lobbyist. The issue could affect Clinton’s ability to connect with independent voters who find her to be dishonest and untrustworthy, according to polls.

The lunch is being co-hosted by seven people, including Podesta and Jeffrey Forbes.
Who is Jeffrey Forbes?
As Zaid Jilani noted, Forbes is a principal at the Forbes-Tate lobbying firm, and he personally has lobbied on behalf of the NRA since 2009 and is still registered to lobby for the NRA as of the final quarter of this past year, 2015. The NRA told Jilani that Forbes no longer represents the NRA.
Forbes previously worked for Bill Clinton’s 1992 and 1996 campaigns, was the New Hampshire field director for Clinton ’92, and worked in the Clinton White House.
The Clinton campaign and Mr. Forbes did not immediately provide comment for this report. Breitbart News will continue to monitor this situation ahead of the March 21 lunch.
Clinton, for her part, has called for “the entire country” to stand up to the NRA while bashing Bernie Sanders’ gun control positions.
