Adam Andrzejewski, founder and chief executive officer of OpentheBooks.com spoke with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Raheem Kassam on Wednesday regarding his latest investigation into outrageous government spending and the lack of transparency.

Andrzejewski said there are over 176,000 public employees that make over $100,000 in New York City, where a janitor can make as much as $250,000. He also pointed to significant spending in places like Illinois and California. Back in New York, Bill de Blasio is actually out-earned by his own deputy mayor and his public relations staff.

“It’s costing taxpayers about 23 billion dollars just for the highly compensated employees,” said Andrzejewski, adding, “and we show in our data that the state, across all levels of government in the state of New York, local, regional, state-wide, City of New York paid out over $400 million in overtime, as well.”

Said Andrzejewski, “The payroll systems are broke. It’s all about pay, prerequisites, and pensions, these bonuses, and overtime. You can be a janitor in the New York public schools and make up to $206,000.”

“We’ve got 700 custodial engineers, janitors in the public schools making up to $206 grand,” he said.

Andrzejewski says that expenses like this are a de facto tax on the private sector and are a systemic problem at all levels of American government, state and federal.
