Gwyneth Paltrow’s “common woman” lifestyle publication Goop has shared the Oscar-winning actress’s detox smoothie recipe, but there’s a catch — the price tag makes the menu at Jamba Juice look like the McDonald’s Dollar Menu.
While it does combine typical smoothie components, such as almond butter and coconut oil, Paltrow’s Hollywood starlet version also calls for some pretty costly ingredients, like Ashwagandha powder (whatever that is), cordyceps, and He Shou Wu.
The smoothie also asks interested dieters to blend quantities of “maca,” “vanilla mushroom protein powder,” and their choice of “moon dust.”
The specific type of “moon dust” is dependent on a number of factors: “brain [dust] before a long day at the office, sex dust before a date, etc.”
According to The Daily Mail, readers can detox like Gwen everyday for roughly the price of a monthly car insurance payment, as the ingredients cost around $223 per smoothie.
Gwyneth Paltrow, who has previously claimed she identifies with the “common woman,” drinks one every morning, her site claims.
Speaking to Refinery29 about her daily smoothie, Paltrow said, “This is an extremely basic version.”
Goop is known for marketing far-fetched ideas and items to everyday women, and as a result, the site has been accused of being out-of-touch with its target audience.
Goop previously featured a $12,000 vase, a $5,000 juicer, and a $4,500 camouflage purse.
