Two previously deported child rapists were captured after re-entering the United States by Border Patrol agents operating in southern New Mexico. Another man was busted for human smuggling.

Agents operating in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, found a group of illegal aliens and discovered that one of the men had previously been convicted for sexual assault of a child, according to a statement from the Border Patrol obtained by Breitbart Texas. The 59-year-old man from El Salvador, Manuel Saravia Guerrero, was arrested and is being processed for prosecution and removal by federal authorities.

In a separate incident, 29-year-old Jesus Gonzalez Lopez, a Mexican citizen, was captured along with a group of illegal aliens west of the Columbus Port of Entry. This is located near Deming, New Mexico. A record search revealed that man had a previous arrest and conviction for “Sex with a minor,” the statement continued. The Mexican citizen is also being processed for prosecution and removal.

Agents operating south of Alamogordo, New Mexico, engaged in a high-speed pursuit of a man who fled from a Border Patrol checkpoint on Highway 54. Agents had referred the driver of an older model Pontiac to a secondary inspection checkpoint. The driver apparently decided not to comply and sped off from the checkpoint.

During the pursuit, deputies with the Otero County Sheriff’s Office deployed a “controlled tire deflation device” and stopped the vehicle which was being driven by a U.S. citizen, Borja Valdez. A records check revealed Valdez had an extraditable warrant for burglary out of Adams County, Colorado.

Borja now faces several New Mexico state charges including fleeing law enforcement, assault with a deadly weapon, and evading arrest. He also faces federal charges of alien smuggling and high speed flight from an immigration checkpoint.

Two other people riding with Valdez were taken into custody as well. The statement did not disclose the nationality or citizenship of these two individuals.

Valdez is being held for prosecution and possible extradition to Colorado, the statement revealed.
