Watch: Romney Dodges Question About Being Next FIFA President

Appearing on Sunday’s “Meet the Press” on NBC, former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney responded to the question about whether or not he would be the next FIFA president to replace Sepp Blatter, who, shortly after being re-elected, announced he would be stepping down, although there is speculation that he is now reconsidering stepping down.

Romney, who took on an executive role with the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics organizing committee and helped fix its corrupt bidding and budget issues, avoided the question about being the next FIFA president by saying he wants to get this country going the right way.

“Frankly, I’m focused on making sure we get this country going in the right directions so we can help the people who need it most,” Romney said.
