FS1’s Clay Travis: Sports Leaders Have Become Worse Than Politicians

During Thursday’s “Outkick the Coverage” on Fox Sports 1 radio, host Clay Travis reacted to the NCAA’s removal of championship events from the state of North Carolina because of the state’s controversial bathroom bill, as well as the NBA who removed the 2016-2017 season’s All-Star Game from Charlotte.

Travis, who called the NCAA a “virtual plantation” because it makes money off poor black athletes without paying them anything in return, said that sports leaders have become far too reactionary when it comes to social issues that were not even issues to begin with.

“What are we doing in this country when sports cant just be sports?” Travis asked.

He continued, “All of these organizations are punishing the city of Charlotte, ironically enough beyond belief, because the city of Charlotte tried too hard to be inclusive. They’re being punished because the left-wing politicians in their city decided to remedy an issue that didn’t even exist.”

“Our politicians have failed us; worst off all, our sports leaders have become worse than our politicians,” Travis concluded.
