In the fourth quarter of the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams, the Seahawks called a fake punt up 24-3 that they may now regret.
Punter Jon Ryan tucked the ball and ran for a first down and more.
As Rams defenders closed in on the punter, Ryan lost his grip on the ball.
Cornerback Troy Hill delivered a big hit on Ryan as he tried to secure the ball, knocking him out.
Although Seahawks defensive back Neiko Thorpe recovered the ball, the punter had to be helped off the field and eventually taken to the hospital for a concussion.
Ryan’s wife gave an update later from the hospital saying he was in good spirits from the hit.
