Tuesday on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak for Yourself,” co-host Colin Cowherd was asked if the Colin Kaepernick obsession has reached the same level as it was for Tim Tebow when he was in the NFL.
Cowherd said the two were different because Tebow-mania was fan-driven, while Kaepernick-mania seems to be about the media.
“Tebow was about the fans. Kaepernick feels, to me, about the media,” Cowherd explained.
He later added, “Tebow connected with Americans, Kaepernick riles up the media.”
Cowherd also pointed out that Tebow was a “feel-good story” while Kaepernick comes with a “racial component.”
