Warner: Revoking Brennan’s Clearance ‘Smacks of Nixonian-Type Practices’

While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) stated that the White House revoking former CIA Director John Brennan’s security clearance “smacks of Nixonian-type practices of trying to silence anyone who’s willing to criticize this president.”

Warner said, “To have either the clearances revoked or in the process of being revoked, to me smacks of Nixonian-type practices of trying to silence anyone who’s willing to criticize this president.”

Warner also stated that it wouldn’t surprise him if the White House went after the Mueller investigation because the White House “clearly is under siege, and will stop at nothing to try to divert people’s attention.”
