Tuesday on CNN, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said the Democratic Party had “no taint” of antisemitism when being questioned about President Donald Trump’s tweet that used 9/11 imagery to criticize Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for her recent comments describing the September 11, 2001 terror attacks as “some people did something.”
Pelosi said, “I don’t think that the congresswoman is antisemitic.”
When asked about Trump saying the Democratic party is antisemitic, Pelosi said, “I think the president is bankrupt of any ideas. I don’t want to talk about the president here because I’m overseas. Come see me in Washington D.C., and I’ll tell you what I think about that and the president. But no, because we are not—we have no taint of that in the Democratic Party, and just because they want to accuse somebody of that, it doesn’t mean that we take that bait.”
