San Francisco Police Department Officer Christopher Kohrs, 38, feted by the gay community of San Francisco as the “Hot Cop of Castro,” was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run after allegedly ramming two men in his 2009 Dodge Charger in North Beach at roughly 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.

The two men Kohrs allegedly hit were expected to survive, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Sgt. Michael Andraychak, a spokesman for the SFPD, said Kohrs will be placed on leave until an investigation is completed, according to CBS Sacramento.

Kohrs patrolled San Francisco’s largely gay Castro district; the residents found him attractive and posted numerous pictures on social media. A Facebook site has been created to celebrate his looks and physique; he has been featured in the FitCops calendar.

Kohrs was amused by the hoopla surrounding him, saying, “It just makes me happy that I can, to them, be approachable, because that’s kind of what a police officer’s job is. This is all new to me. I’m not used to this, but I’m having fun with it. I’ll just go with it.”
