A man armed with a chainsaw attempted to run over people at a Southern California Edison storage facility, as seen in video footage captured Tuesday.
The SoCal Edison subcontractor “argued with a foreman, chased him with a chainsaw and then tried to run over people with a work truck.” He also did doughnuts in the lot.
“The security guard tried to come up to the suspect and tried to talk to him. He grabbed his chainsaw out of his truck and started chasing the security guard,” explained witness Dino Mendoza.
But officers opened fire on him when he allegedly attempted to back the truck into them. None of the bullets struck the suspect.
One witness said the man threw rocks as well. Another person said he “appeared to be ‘on drugs.'”
The police arrested him and booked him “on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism.”
The incident did not harm the police officers. No one knows yet exactly what caused the man to attack the foreman at the facility.
