U.S. Ambassador Power Skipped U.N. Meeting on Chemical Weapons, Tweeted Instead

Newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., Samantha Power, skipped an emergency U.N. meeting on the chemical weapons attack in Syria and tweeted her opinion on the matter instead.

Fox News reported Power’s tweet, sent at 3:09 p.m. on August 21: “Reports devastating: 100s dead in the streets, including kids killed by chem weapons. UN must get there fact & if true, perps must face justice.”

If the use of chemical weapons proves true the consequences could be tremendous, as Obama has made clear more than once his position that the use of such weapons represents a red line that must not be crossed.
