Aug. 24 (UPI) — Marvel and Disney are gearing up for the release of Avengers: Doomsday.
The studios shared a Lego-fied trailer for the film Monday that recreates the preview released in July scene-for-scene in the Lego universe.
Opening with a scene of Professor X, played by Patrick Stewart in the live-action version, the Lego trailer depicts toy versions of Marvel superheroes and sets made from the iconic plastic bricks.
The live-action Avengers: Doomsday will bring together characters from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), including Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Scott Lang (Paul Rudd).
In addition, Robert Downey Jr., who previously played Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in the MCU, will portray the character Victor von Doom, aka Doctor Doom.
Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and opens in theaters Dec. 18. The film is a sequel to Avengers: Endgame (2019) and is the 39th entry in the MCU.
