Congressman Jim Moran Complains on Twitter About Having to Work Saturday Night

On Saturday night, Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) took to Twitter to complain about doing the job his constituents elected him to do. Meanwhile, other House lawmakers debated whether to fund the military in the event of a government shutdown.

“Way to spend a Saturday night,” Moran tweeted. “#EnoughAlready.”

Just two minutes before his tweet, Moran had declared that he was “managing the debate on paying our troops” during what he claimed would be a “#GOPshutdown.”

Taxpayers pay Moran an annual salary of $174,000

Lawmakers have until Monday to pass a short-term resolution to fund the government before the current resolution expires. On Saturday, the House Republican leadership attached a one-year delay of Obamacare and the individual mandate to the Senate bill that would keep the government funded. The House had initially passed a bill to fund the government except for Obamacare until December 15 before Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) attached an amendment to fund Obamacare to that bill before sending it back to the House.
