Saudi Arabian-raised Huma Abedin, the wife of disgraced former Democrat congressman Anthony Weiner and also Hillary Clinton’s closest aide, told The Hollywood Reporter at the 2016 White House Correspondents Dinner that she is “a good friend” with Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka.
As the Reporter reported:
Abedin told The Hollywood Reporter that she had not harsh words for the younger Trump (Donald’s son Eric.)
“They’re very nice people. His sister is a good friend,” Abedin said of Trump’s sister Ivanka, a fellow New Yorker.
Breitbart News has reported extensively about Abedin’s rapid rise to power. Born in America but raised in Saudi Arabia. Huma Abedin came to the Clinton White House in 1996 and almost immediately became an aide to First Lady Hillary Clinton. Mrs. Clinton credited Abedin with helping her understand Islam.
However, both Huma Abedin and her family have deep ties to Dr. Abdullah Omar Naseef and Saudi Arabia’s biggest charity and Islamic evangelism outlet, the Muslim World League. The MWL was formed in 1962 to spread The fundamentalist form of Islam known as Wahhabism throughout the world.
In 1963, the Muslim World League in conjunction with the Muslim brotherhood for the group Muslim Student’s Association in the United States. Both Huma Abedin and her father Syed were members of the Muslim Student Association, but the more direct connection to Dr. Naseef was his sponsorship of the Abedin’s family business, The Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs.
Despite the claim of friendship with Trump’s daughter, Trump himself has not held back from attacking from Abedin and her husband Anthony Weiner by name.
For example, last year Donald Trump made headlines by going after Weiner and Huma’s connection to Hillary Clinton:
Donald Trump on Saturday stood by his charge that disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner is a “perv,” adding that he “obviously is psychologically disturbed” and alleging that his wife, Huma Abedin, a top adviser to Hillary Clinton, is passing sensitive information to him.
“I think it’s a very fair statement that I made and a lot of people have congratulated me,” Trump said after an event in Nashville, Tennessee. “(Abedin) is receiving this very, very important information and giving it to Hillary. Well, who else is she giving it to? Her husband has serious problems, and on top of that, he now works for a public relations firm. So how can she be married to this guy who’s got these major problems?”
Abedin is currently the cochair of Hillary Clinton presidential run.
