A military father came home a week early from his deployment and surprised his daughter at her South Carolina high school.

Sgt. Carlos Solis was in Kuwait for nine months before he came home a week earlier than expected, ABC News reported.

His daughter, Solymar, had been living with his sister as he is a single father.

When Solis came home, he came up with a plan with his sister to surprise Solymar.

Solis decided to bring flowers and balloons into a classroom Spring Valley High School and sat in a desk to blend in with the students.

As soon as Solymar walked into the classroom, she saw her father and started crying.

“She didn’t talk. She was just crying,” Solis told ABC News. “She was overwhelmed with everything. She thought it was a dream.”

Solis said he looks forward to spending time with his daughter now that he is back.
