Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s remark about Trump supporters being a “basket of deplorables” has sparked outrage among many on the right.
Clinton said in a speech to donors on Friday that “half of Trump supporters” would fall into what she calls “the basket of deplorables…the racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it.”
#BasketOfDeplorables is the number one trending topic on Twitter, and it has prompted quite a bit of backlash against Clinton.
Some people found the term downright offensive.
It's shocking @HillaryClinton would call pretty much anyone who doesn't support her irredeemable, unAmerican and a #BasketOfDeplorables.
