Job Creators Network and FreedomWorks, two of the nation’s largest grassroots organizations, have launched a nationwide campaign to force lawmakers to pass tax reform legislation that will spur small business job creation and give American taxpayers an economic boost.

The 15-city tour kicked off in Dublin, Ohio this week where business owners and workers gathered and discussed the significance tax reform can have on the economy.

Elaine Parker, president of Job Creators Network, said her organization’s polling of small businesses cited taxes as a major concern.

“Seventy percent of our small businesses responded that high taxes was really hurting the viability of their businesses and preventing them from expanding,” Parker said.

President Donald Trump’s administration released its tax reform proposal last month, calling it “the most significant tax reform legislation since 1986 – and one of the biggest tax cuts in American history.”

Economist Stephen Moore, who was research director of President Ronald Reagan’s Privatization Commission, said lawmakers needed to be reminded that the American people need to see tax reform on this year’s legislative agenda.

“We have one of the most dysfunctional federal tax systems in the world in terms of destroying jobs in this country and sending them outside the country to China, Mexico and India other nations,” Moore told reporters Wednesday.

Moore is headlining the nationwide tour, urging lawmaker to pass tax reform legislation that will simply the current tax code and incentivize investments in the U.S. economy.

Job Creators Network and Freedom Works says that their tour could expand to more cities.
