President Donald Trump said that the terrorist who killed eight people in New York City and injured 12 should get the death penalty as punishment.
“NYC terrorist was happy as he asked to hang ISIS flag in his hospital room,” he wrote on Twitter. “He killed 8 people, badly injured 12. SHOULD GET DEATH PENALTY!”

Trump acknowledged on Twitter that although he wanted to send the terrorist to the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, the legal process would take much longer than trying him in United States federal courts.
“There is also something appropriate about keeping him in the home of the horrible crime he committed,” Trump wrote. “Should move fast. DEATH PENALTY!”

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Wednesday, Trump described the terrorist as an “animal.”
“We have to get much tougher. We have to get much smarter. And we have to get much less politically correct,” he said. “We’re so politically correct that we’re afraid to do anything.”
