The political arm of taxpayer-funded Planned Parenthood is leading a coalition of left-wing groups in an organized effort to spend $30 million to elect Democrats in the mid-term elections this year and regain control of Congress.

The focus of the campaign – dubbed “Win Justice” – will be to mobilize people who vote infrequently but are sympathetic to liberal causes, particularly minorities, women, and young people.

The other groups joining Planned Parenthood are Center for Community Change Action, Color of Change PAC, and the Service Employees International Union.

“Everything is on the line in 2018 for people of color, young people and women,” said Deirdre Schifeling, executive director of Planned Parenthood Votes, reports Bloomberg.

Schifeling added the Trump administration has “attacked and undermined” these groups.

“We are in a really historic, different climate than we were in 2016,” she said.

Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion chain, states it has added two million supporters since Trump’s election in 2016, and now has a membership of 11.5 million. Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards – who has overseen the development of what she refers to as her “women’s healthcare” business into a political movement – will be resigning her post in May and has not rejected the notion that she will run for elected office herself.

“Never say never,” Richards has been telling talk show hosts questioning her intentions as she promotes her new book, Making Trouble.

The $30 million will be spent mainly in Florida, Nevada, and Michigan – states expected to have close House and Senate races.

About half of the prospective voters the groups are targeting are in Florida where Republican Gov. Rick Scott is challenging Democrat Sen. Bill Nelson. In Nevada, Republican Sen. Dean Heller is vulnerable, and, according to Roll Call,in Michigan, Center for Community Change Action spokesman Jeff Parcher said his group is focusing on immigration, abortion rights, and criminal justice reform.
